By registering with and participating in Miramonte Water Polo Club, all athletes, coaches, and family members agree to adhere to the following club policies.

By joining Miramonte Water Polo Club, athletes and parents/guardians agree to follow the guidelines outlined in the Parent/Athlete Code of Conduct.

Additionally, all members of USA Water Polo must abide by USA Water Polo’s Rules Governing Conduct and Safety Policies.

Failure to comply with these policies or Team-Level Behavior Contracts may result in an athlete’s removal from the club, with no opportunity for reinstatement.

At Miramonte Water Polo Club, athlete safety and well-being are our top priorities. We uphold a disciplined approach to safety, ensuring that all players train and compete in a secure and supportive environment. Our safety standards align with USA Water Polo’s Safety Policies, which set the foundation for best practices in player protection, injury prevention, and emergency response.

As part of our commitment, we strictly follow guidelines established by the U.S. Center for SafeSport, reinforcing policies that promote respect, accountability, and athlete protection. Additionally, we emphasize concussion awareness and education, equipping our athletes, coaches, and families with the knowledge to recognize symptoms and follow proper return-to-play protocols. By fostering a culture of safety, discipline, and responsibility, we ensure that every athlete can develop, compete, and thrive with confidence at Miramonte Water Polo Club.

Athlete Safety

All athletes, parents/guardians, and coaches participating in Miramonte Water Polo Club are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity. By joining our club, members agree to comply with the following Code of Conduct to ensure a positive, safe, and competitive environment for all.

All athletes must:

  1. Respect Teammates, Coaches, Officials, and Opponents – Show sportsmanship, fairness, and respect in all interactions, both in and out of the pool.

  2. Demonstrate Commitment and Discipline – Attend practices and games on time, give full effort, and adhere to training expectations set by the coaching staff.

  3. Follow Instructions and Team Policies – Listen to coaches, participate fully in training, and maintain a positive attitude at all times.

  4. Maintain a Safe and Supportive Environment – Engage in inclusive, respectful behavior, free from bullying, harassment, or discrimination.

  5. Refrain from Unsportsmanlike Conduct – This includes excessive arguing, taunting, profanity, or any actions that compromise the integrity of the game.

  6. Adhere to Travel and Behavior Policies – When traveling for competitions, athletes must conduct themselves in a way that reflects the values of Miramonte Water Polo Club.

Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct

All parents/guardians must:

  1. Support the Club’s Mission and Coaching Staff – Encourage player development, teamwork, and respect while allowing coaches to coach.

  2. Model Good Sportsmanship – Display respectful behavior toward coaches, officials, other athletes, and fellow parents.

  3. Communicate Appropriately – Direct concerns through proper channels, avoiding public confrontation with coaches, referees, or other families.

  4. Encourage a Positive and Competitive Atmosphere – Promote hard work, resilience, and perseverance, rather than focusing solely on winning.

  5. Respect Team and Club Policies – Ensure athletes attend scheduled practices, games, and team events. Notify coaches in advance of absences.

By registering with Miramonte Water Polo Club, all athletes and parents/guardians agree to uphold this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with these standards may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the club.
